Who are you in other worlds?
« on: February 03, 2013, 05:01:22 PM »
Some of you know I'm an avid online gamer. I decided to share with you some of my "multiple personalities" from the other worlds I visit.

Feel free to share any of your characters from other worlds as well!

-----------------------------------

Star Wars: The Old Republic
Server: Begeren Colony

"The Cassian Legacy"

Staavis Cassian - Jedi Master, son of a farmer from Dantooine, whose mother was Force Sensitive, but died while giving birth to him. He has an older brother.

Slatts Cassian - The older brother of Jedi Master Staavis. He didn't grow up Force Sensitive, which caused a jealous towards his brother. Slatts went on to become a gambler, freelancer and generally speaking, scum of the universe.

Lieutenant Yorke - Commanding Officer, Republic Special Forces Unit #326, code named "Havoc Squad". While on Ord Mantell, then Sgt. Yorke was betrayed by the former unit commander of Havoc. Now, he is tasked with bringing the traitors to justice, dodging the politicians and re-staffing his SpecOps team.

Kalahn - Sentinel of the Jedi Order, highly skilled swordsman but with a bit of a temper, which has him headed down a dark path. An ally and friend of Jedi Master Staavis, he relies on Staavis to be his concience, as he has lacked trust in himself, while Staavis relies on Kalahn to protect him in the upcoming fights with the Sith Empire.

The Circle of X, a group of heroes based in Millennium City, which formed after a recent attack by the Qularr. The name Circle of X is used because X as an algebraic value, can be any number, which means no matter how many are in the group, the Circle remains unbroken.

Most interesting characters:

Sentinel - Former military R&D officer who led the Sentinel Weapons project. During the intital human test of the Sentinel power armor, the suit fused to him, making it impossible for him to live without it. He left the military, and became Sentinel, fighting to clean up the streets of Millennium City. Sentinel is the leader of the Circle of X, as well as co-founder.

The Spook - Former CIA assassin, who left the agency and went rogue when his wife was killed by VIPER.

Bionic Marine - A military experiment in restoring wounded soldiers to combat readiness. He was the first to try the procedure. He won't be the last.

Mr. Infinity - A visitor from another world, who came to warn Earth about the Qularr invasion, and to battle his enemies to protect the humans. He came into contact with Sentinel, and the two banded together a group of heroes to fight to protect Millennium City. His real name is unpronouncable by humans, so Sentinel gave him the name Mr. Infinity.

Not many backstories for the other characters, however just by looking at them, you can likely see they were influenced by other Marvel and DC characters.

Sentinel - Iron Man
Argento - Thor
Cosmic Ray - Superman
The Spook - Black Widow
Crimson Hawk - Green Arrow
Shadowstrike - Batman
Fortress - The Incredible Hulk & Juggernaut
Patriot - Captain America
Fireshot - Not based on anyone in particular, other than his suit being like Jim Raynor's in "Starcraft"
Mr. Infinity - Doctor Fate / Martian Manhunter
Bionic Marine - Sorta like Robocop, but his name comes from the nickname given to Clint Eastwood in "Heartbreak Ridge"

307th Starfleet Corps of Engineers Support Wing - 4th Fleet

Commanded by Rear Admiral Cameron Carmichael, the 307th is tasked with support operations for the 4th Fleet and are based out of Starbase 319, located near the Nimbus System.

With my characters in STO, I've been weaving an intricate story about an altered timeline, which directly impacts the 4 captains above who are part of the 307th (Carmichael-Rahl-Casey-Beckman) as well as a captain on routine patrol near Gamma Hydra in the late 23rd Century. Meanwhile, a Captain from the Temporal Integrity Commission in the 29th Century (not shown) is working to undue the damage to the timeline, with the help of these 5 individuals. Using the Captain's Log function in-game, I am telling the overall story from each Captain's perspective, with the hope that one day, when the story is done, I will copy the logs out to Word, combine them with some screenshots, and create a short book, which my son can read.

About Carmichael: Dispatched with the 4th Fleet in 2373, during the opening days of the Dominion War. He commands the USS McCullough (named for famed bridge engineer Conde B. McCullough) which serves as the flagship for the 307th.

About Casey: Dispatched with the 4th Fleet in 2373, during the opening days of the Dominion War. He commands the USS O'Bannon (named for Lt. Pressley O'Bannon), a Defiant class escort. His job is to protect the 307th during their behind the lines ship repair and salvage efforts.

About Rahl: Dispatched with the 4th Fleet in 2373, during the opening days of the Dominion War. He commands the USS Resolute, a Vesta class light cruiser. He has a prickly demeanor, which is not uncommon for a Tellarite, but is well respected by the 307th, and is good friends with Captain Casey.

About Beckman: Dispatched to Defera Prime in 2366, after the Borg attacked their world, he assists the Defera Reconstruction Project on behalf of the 307th. However, Defera being at the very outskirts of the quadrant, he has been out of contact with Starfleet for nearly 7 years. Beckman commands the USS Apollo (named for the Apollo Space Program), an Ambassador class starship, which after 7 years of long term service, is badly in need of a refit.

About th'Zarath: Took command of the USS Sagittarius-A in 2297, the second starship to bear the name. He was sent out on a 5 year mission to patrol the far extents of the Neutral Zone near Gamma Hydra. However, with the Khitomer Peace Talks being saved by Captain Kirk in 2293, activity along the Neutral Zone has been sparse, and his mission has become one of scientific research more than border patrol.

Age of Conan
Server: Set (formerly Wiccana)

I don't play AoC as much as I used to, since they merged my previous server (Wicanna) with the least reputable server in North America (Set). But these are my Hyborian Adventurers.

Aullus - Former Aquilonian soldier, who was captured in the far east and sold into slavery. He escaped, and now makes his way back across Hyboria in hopes of returning home.

Torvan - A pit fighter that was brought to the island of Tortage for matches, he became stranded there when Admiral Strom of the Red Hand closed the ports to all incoming and outgoing ships, in order to quell the resistance to his tyrannical rule. Torvan now fights for the Resistance, in an effort to see the fall of Strom, which will allow him to go home.

The Star Wars game looks interesting !!

Quite interesting.

SWTOR takes place approximately 300 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) and Knights of the Old Republic II (KOTOR2) and so the Republic is in a downswing period, recovering from their lopsided surrender to the Sith after the Battle of Courscant.

The gameplay is very fluid and enjoyable, with good animations that really give you an authentic Star Wars feel. The graphics are of a nice style, and yet simple enough that most machines nowdays can run the game. But the best thing about the game is the story, which is fully voice-acted, using a few notable voice actors such as:

David Hayter (voiced the Metal Gear Solid series)
Nolan North (voice the Uncharted series, has a role in the upcoming JJ Trek sequel)
Brian Bloom (voiced Captain America in Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heroes)
Jennifer Hale (voiced in KOTOR, Ms. Marvel in Avengers: Earths Mightest Heroes and the female Cmdr. Sheppard in Mass Effect 3)
Rachel Leigh Cook (actress)
Lacey Chabert (actress)
Tom Kane (voices Yoda and the Narrarator for Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
Catherine Taber (voiced in KOTOR and voices Padme Amedalla in Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
Robert Pine (played Sgt. Getraer on CHiPs)

It's a well polished, and well presented game, which is slated for it's first expansion, "Rise of the Hutt Cartel" this spring.

I don't really play any MMO's, but I do play alot of single-player RPG's, with the Fallout series being my favorite. Here is my main character, or his background that is; I don't want to spoil Fallout New Vegas for those of you who may play it. The Fallout games take place anywhere from 50 (Fallout 1) to 200 years (Fallout 3 and New Vegas) after the nuclear apocalypse in 2077. The Fallout universe never has any cultural changes after the 1950's- so in the Fallout games you can listen so salvaged pre-war radio stations that play 1940's/1950's era music. The whole of pre-war culture, from the old propaganda posters on the walls to the appearence of the series' iconic energy weapons and power armor, to the atomic cars, Fallout is the 1950's future gone wrong.

Fallout: New Vegas

Name: Paladin Liam Douglas Mackenzie

Born in the Sierra Nevadas in 2258, he never new his parents, as they were killed by raiders when he was 6 months old. A patrol of Brotherhood of Steel Paladins from the recently-founded Sierra Nevada chapter found him and brought him back to their bunker. He was raised with the Brotherhood, and upon his entry to the order of the Knights (Soldiers and general handymen of the Brotherhood; the scribes serving as it's scientists and historians and the Paladins it's elite warriors), he was found to be a natrual leader, skilled with machinery, and an excellent marksman, prefering the less-reliable but more accurate Wattz 2000 Laser Rifle to the standard AER-9. In 2275, at the age of 17, he was promoted from Knight Captain to Junior Paladin due to his valorous actions in leading an 8-man force of knights against an NCR (New California Republic) Platoon after being encricled during a patrol. However, as in many BoS chapters, there was discontent among the ranks. Hardliners were advocating a form of Social Darwinism, twisting the Brotherhood's mission of protecting the wasteland and procuring pre-war tech in order to rebuild humanity into hording tech in order to protect it from the outside, and beliving outsiders were inferior. Due to the Sierra Nevada chapter's small size of 12 Paladins, 30 Knights, and 16 scribes, the chapter quickly descended into conflict. The forces were split almost even; however thanks to Mackenzie's combat leadership and the tactical skills of the chapter leader, Head Paladin Jonathan Roswell, the Loyalists overcame the hardliners. However, the Hardliners sabatoged the Reactor of the chapter's bunker. Mackenzie was the only one to survive the blast, saved by his T-45d Power Armor; but the armor was ruined by the blast. He then set out for the Mojave Wasteland in an attempt to find the Mojave chapter, where he hoped he would find the Scouting detatchment sent by the Head Paladin to deliver an important package to the Mojave chapter. After a long journy filled with hardships, he arrived in the Mojave in 2279, only to discover that the Mojave BoS had been driven into hiding by the New California Republic. He began working as a courier to make ends meet while he tried to contact the remnants of the Mojave BoS. After three years of Courier work, he was Contracted by the Mojave Express to deliver a strange package- a large platinum poker chip- to the New Vegas strip for a sum of 1000 bottle caps (The Currency of the post-apoc fallout universe). He was intercepted by an unknown party, consisting of several Great Khan raiders and a man in a plaid suit. They shot him in the head, buried him in a shallow grave in the cemetary outside of Goodsprings, Nevada, and left for the New Vegas strip. However, the courier was later found by the town doctor to be very much alive.... and yearning for vengance.

I'm surprised so many of you also have other manifestations. In certain dimensions I am known as The Marlock, a giant flesh eating  monstrosity with a dozen arms with which to tear my enemies apart. I jump from planet to planet (literally) in that dimension, devouring all that has the misfortune of meeting me. In our dimension, you know me as the Emperor of Zarkon, a fashionable and devastatingly handsome humanoid who, as a hobby, subjugates countless alien races in a never ending quest for ultimate power. And that's just on Tuesdays.

NLIO....dude...you have many more layers than I'd first thought!  Wow...    Now we know what you're doing when you're not here.
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered...I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."  Thomas Jefferson

I also have a Star Wars character, not for any specific game, just one I have developed for many years. I have had to bend and twist Star Wars lore to get him right, but I finally perfected the character a few months ago. Just keep in mind I made some of my own "additions" that may not be canonically accurate.

Liam Douglas Mackenzie was born on Correllia 26 years before the battle of Genosis, but he grew up on Mandalore. His parents were traders from Correllia, but they were killed by Rodian pirates while on a journey from Alderaan to Daantoine. The 1 and a half year old Liam was only saved from the marauders when Kal Jakitra, a Mandalorian mercenary leaving Daantoine after finishing a contract, picked up the action on his ship's sensors. The Mandalorian merc boarded the Rodian vessel, killed those who remained, then transfered to the Corellian freighter and killed the boarding party. Mackenzie's parents and their crew had all been slain, and he was the only survivor. Kal adopted him, and raised him as his son, teaching him the ways of the Mandalorians. When he was 16, his adopted father passed away, leaving Mackenzie to find his own contracts. He became an accomplished mercenary, only fighting for causes he thought just and conforming to his strict code of justice.

As tension grew between the Republic and Trade Federation, he found himself fighting the Droid Army more and more. He soon became one of the Republics most trusted contacts for work to dirty for, in his opinion, the arrogant and pompous Jedi. He, along with Kal Sikatra and many other notable Mandalorians, was contacted by Jango Fett to help train the Clones of the Grand Army of the Republic. Along with Sikatra, he trained the Alpha-Class ARC (Advanced Reconnisance Commando) troopers. The Clones were children- they may have all come from Jango's genetic template, but the Mandalorians still thought of them as human beings, unlike the Kaminoan cloners or most of the Jedi generals. He adopted two of the ARCs as his sons, Alpha 123 and Alpha 167, and gave them the traditional Mandalorian names Kal, after both his father Kal Jakitra and his close friend Kal Sikatra, and Jaster, after famed Mandalorian commander Jaster Mareel.

After much time training the ARC troopers, he requested to be enlisted in the GAR with the rank of Captain, and became on of the only non-clones to serve in it's ranks. He made sure that he was in the same unit as his adopted sons- the ARC detachment of the 501st legion. When the 501st stormed the plains of the desert planet Genosis with the rest of the GAR, Mackenzie was fighting side by side with his adopted sons. Like the rest of the clones, he stood 1.8 meters tall- in his Phase I ARC trooper armor, he could have been mistaken for any other clone. When his sons asked him why he would exchange his custom mandalorian battle armor for the Phase I, he said it was because he didn't want to stand out from the rest of the army. He didn't want to be recognized as one of the Mandalorian instructors hero-worshipped by so many troopers, but as another soldier. He fought bravely with the 501st, which eventually became the most elite unit of the GAR, and in the days of the Empire, would be known across the galaxy as "Vader's Fist".

The 501st would eventually be placed under the command of General Anakin Skywalker. Despite Liam's contempt for the Jedi order, he came to become friends with Skywalker, mainly out of their mutual respect for each-other's martial prowess. Towards the end of the war, Mackenzie couldn't help but notice the way the 501st was being indoctrinated to serve Chancellor Palpatine, not the Republic. While the Infantry Troopers of the 501st, trained to obey any order without question, accepted this blindly, the ARCs, trained to think critically as was required of Special Forces, were skeptical. He and his ARCs attempted to show the Infantry of the 501st what was going on, but with little success- mainly due to Skywalker himself's indoctrination by Palaptine. So when Order 66 was given, and the 501st was given the honor of storming the Jedi temple, Mackenzie ordered the pilot of his LAAT (Republic Gunship) to turn around, saying the ARCs had a special mission. The pilot complied, as did the other 3 gunships carrying ARC troopers of the 501st, along with a few others containing infantry clones who he had educated against Palapatine's lies. Together with some commandeered ARC-170 starfighters, he flew the deserting clones to Mandalore where they could start a new life as mercenaries.

Returning to Mandalore, he married his sweetheart, fellow Mandalorian Cheyenne Berry, in a traditional Mandalorian ceremony in full battle armor. He returned to wearing his Mandalorian armor, painted black with red detail. Black is the mandalorian color for Justice, and red the color for honoring a father. After a brief respite, Mackenzie was back to mercenary work, but not as a simple soldier- this time, he had 382 Clone Troopers, 120 ARC troopers, and 600 Mandalorian soldiers at his disposal. "Mackenzie's Legion" as they would be known, would become one of the best outfits in the Galaxy, constantly evading the Empire and becoming known for only accepting contracts that conformed with the Mandalorian code of honor. The clones of the Legion continued to wear their Phase II armor, still in the colors of the 501st legion, to honor their roots. Mackenzie eventually made contact with Kal Sikatra, who was living with his his six adopted Null-Class ARC trooper sons on Mandalore. They had found a way to stop the advanced ageing of the Clone Troopers. The clones of the GAR were engineered to age 2x faster than a normal human, in order to easier provide an army. However, it never stopped. However, using this cure, he made all the clones under his command able to live full lives. Eventually, due to his anti-imperial stance and infamous reputation, the fledgling rebel alliance attempted to hire his company. He told the Rebels they couldn't afford him- while supportive of the Rebel cause, he believed that the Rebellion would end the same way as countless others before it- crushed under the boots of the empire's stormtroopers.

The Rebellion, after countless defeats, scored their first victory at the Battle of Turkana. This was thanks to a new weapon- the Incom T-65 X-wing starfighter. This gave the rebels an edge over the empire when it came to fighter combat. This victory caused Mackenzie to re-consider his stance on the war. He joined his company to the Rebel alliance, asking only for enough for his soldiers to make a living. The legion would become the key player in many battles, but the war would take it's toll. After many sucessful missions against the empire, the Legion, with most of the Rebel Alliance's conventional forces, were pulled back to Hoth. But it was not long before the Empire came knocking. Being the best of the best, Mackenzie's legion held as long as they could, and were the last Rebel forces to be evacuated from hoth- or what was left of them. The legion held their own against thousands of stormtroopers- some of them even from their brothers in the 501st. But this took it's toll. The legion had 375 Clone Infantry, 119 ARCs, and 590 Mandalorians when the Empire came. When they left Hoth, there were 123 Clone Infantry, 62 ARCs, and 492 Mandalorians. These losses only increased Mackenzie's hatred for the Empire. The Legion took it's vengence retaking cloud city. The clones and mandalorians stormed the city, quickly crushing the stormtrooper garrison and taking no fatalities. Mackenzie, his wife, and two sons, along with 15 other members of the Legion, were decorated with the Alliance Medal of Bravery for their actions on Hoth and Bespin.

The Legion again fought for the rebellion on Endor, where they became true heros, fighting their own brothers of the 501st. At one point, many Rebel troopers were pinned down by a whole company of Stormtroopers. The legion stormed through the trees and engaged. The rebels initially thought they had been surrounded when white-armored soldiers had raced out from the trees behind them. But, the distinctive menacing lines of the Phase II armor, coupled with the 501st's signature blue markings (which they had forsaken in their imperial days), proved otherwise. The legion immediately routed the stormtroopers, and pushed forwards and through the forest, wiping out Imperial reinforcements that were en-route to crush Han Solo's troops once and for all. After Endor, the Legion fought on many worlds, including the Imperial Capital, Coruscant. The troopers of the Legion raised their flag over the senate building, and signaled the end of the war. After victory was won, Mackenzie gave his soldiers permission to leave the legion. His speech read:

"My brothers. Brave troopers and mandalorians. You have fought beside me in two wars for the republic- one to defend it, another to restore it. We have lost many of our own on the way here. You men have bled with me for over 20 years. It is pass time you are paid for it. You all deserve long happy lives, and I expect you to take advantage of this liberty you have fought so hard for. Many of you may want to retire. Many of you will want to stay with the Alliance. I leave this to you. You have been following orders your entire lives... it is time you had freedom! I can only ask that, occasionally, you come to visit me on Mandalore. Our home is open to all of you. For those of you who wish to remain, my family and I will continue to do the occasional job for the alliance, and the occasional contract as well, but otherwise, we plan to take a break from the life for a few years. I suggest all of you do the same. I am more proud of you than you could imagine. Now go! You defended this city once, and now you have captured it! Explore the capital of galactic civilization! Spread the word! The Empire is dead!"

Mackenzie would live in seclusion with his family for several years, aside from the odd special mission or merc contract, before returning to the only trade he knew. The Mackenzies, along with a few ARCs, troopers, and Mandalorians, would soon become known both as the Alliance's best and the galaxy's most infamous mercenaries.
