What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a simple XML-based system that allows users to subscribe to their favorite websites. Using RSS, webmasters can put their content into a standardized format, which can be viewed and organized through RSS-aware software or automatically conveyed as new content on another website.  There are many different specifications for RSS, but most software should be capable of understanding the RSS 2.0 format that we are using here.

For a simple explanation of what RSS is and how it operates, you can take a look at the Wikipedia entry here.

For more detailed information about RSS,  take a look at the RSS Advisory Board website here.

The Republican Liberty Caucus of California will maintain RSS feeds for a number of sections on the website. RSS feeds are indicated by the small orange RSS icon on the website navigation menu to the left.  Clicking on the icon will bring up the RSS feed.  Browsers such as Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 7 are capable of identifying the RSS feed.  In other browsers, an RSS feed will simply appear as an XML document.

You can also use Google as your RSS feed reader...  The links below that state "Add to Google" will allow you to configure RSS feeds to display directly on your Google homepage or the Google RSS feed reader.

The following is a list of the RSS feeds being offered by this website:

The RLC-CA Weblog
